I have some of the squarest jaws in my family. My father and mother didn't have a jaw like this. I think my grandfather did. I hated these square jaws of mine and wanted to have them surgically dealt with or perhaps with botox because whenever a stranger in my country, Singapore meets me, he/she would comment I have a very Chinese look and I believe it is attributed to my jawline. Although I'm Singaporean Chinese, the Chinese here have a certain strange stereotype of how mainland Chinese from China should look like and many Singaporean Chinese do not believe I am a Singaporean born Chinese when they see my face which they judged to make me look Cheena as they call it here.

I have never felt good about my jaws because an uncle once commented that my face made people think I am taller than what I am. In reality, I am short. Another aunt once said, that I have a pretty face but it's a pity I'm short.
