I drew a line from the lower lip of Salma to the point of her chin (click on the image for larger view). You can see that the line is perpendicular to the floor plane with the lower lip slightly overlapping the superior lip. This is typical of strong chin-ed women and in our opinion it gives the profile of Salma a statuesque beautiful look.
I also measured, in green on the image, the distance between the nose base and the upper lip, and in yellow, from the lower lip to the point of the chin (click on the image for larger view). The nose base / upper lip = 0.66, while the lower lip / chin point = 2,17. It means that the chin distances = 3.28x more distance than the upper lip/nose distance. In other words, the chin accounts for 76% of Salma's lower face. Again, this is typical of strong chin-ed /square jawed women where the chin tends to advance and "eat" the lower face height against the upper lip. I also noticed, aside from chins, that the small upper lip height is a feminine characteristic.
Such a small upper lip to nose base distance, in contrast to a much larger lower lip to chin point distance is in our opinion a requisite for superior female beauty.

Hi, regarding your Salma
Hi, regarding your Salma Hayek chin analysis, could you please estimate what are the numbers you mentioned, in centimeters and/or inches? (I don't think it's 0.66 and 2.17 inches!). I am curious, because I measured myself; nose to upper lip 1 cm (hardly!), lower lip to chin 3.6 cm (cm=centimeters). When I make my lips a little "pouty", the upper lip easily touches my nose! I have always thought my chin is too large, and I've even considered surgically reducing it, at least one centimeter. According to your beauty standards, she (Salma) is beautiful having 77% of her lower face on her chin. Based on your calculations (1 cm divided by 4.6, the total minus one, expressed in percentage), I have 78% of my lower face on my chin, pretty much like her (although vertically, in a profile view, my chin is almost a straight line; hers is much more projected than mine; I don't know what is more beautiful, according to you). I've always heard and read about a long chin being a masculine trait. This is the first time I read the opposite. I am confused now; should I keep my "long chin" as it is, or should I go to the surgeon to slice a bit of it off? What about Reese Witherspoon? She must have 85% of her lower face, on her very long chin, is that beautiful too? And Penelope Cruz? Her nose to upper lip distance must be half a centimeter, so she must also be 75 to 85% is that good?
