Thank you sooooooooooo much for this terrific site. As a woman with a square jaw, I so love to see square jawed beauties and how they are so well represented in the fashion and entertainment industries. The most beautiful squared jaw women I think I have spotted on this site are of course Audrey Hepburn, Shalom Harlow, Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley (I am so in love with her) and Michelle Pfeifer only to name a few and of course Ling Bai. What I love is how squared jaw beauties are found in all societies and how elegant they all look especially with their long graceful necks. Lets not forget another ancient square jaw beauty: Queen Nefertiti!!!! I always loved her gorgeous long neck, square jaw and beautiful cheekbones. People have a love and hate relationship ship with squared jaw women and so I am so pleased to see a site that appreciates the beauty of such women and how elegant they are.

Hello Persian beauty, thanks

Hello Persian beauty,
thanks for posting your picture. You are the living example of why I made this site. You are a very above average beautiful woman, very feminine, with the square jaw that gives nobility, majesty to your face that can't possibly be matched by non square jawed faces. You are a superb woman and I invite you to post more face pictures (you can edit your message to upload more) or send them privately to sendto@womenlargejaw.com .

You are perfectly right about Nefertiti, see, I added an entry about her http://www.womenlargejaw.com/node/382 .

Cordially,
Admin Ron

Hi Ron, thank you for your

Hi Ron,
thank you for your kind reply. I also think it would be great to add Jessica Alba to the list of square jawed beauties. In fact, she and I went to the same junior high school at one point. I had seen her pass by one time not having known she had just started a modeling/acting career and in real life she was probably the most stunning girl in the entire school at the age of 13. It is kind of hard to find a good picture of her showing all of her facial contours because she usually has her hair down, but Im sure you can find a few good pictures of her: http://www.famosas-desnudass.com/famosas-desnudas/Jessica-Alba/Jessica-A...
Also it would be awesome if you could add a some pictures of some squared jaw Iranian actresses. Unfortunately, Iranian actresses are quite limited as far as posing in pictures are concerned and even in the number of ways and angles they can pose facially. Nonetheless even with a headscarf there are quite a few beautiful Iranian actresses that are beginning to gain prominence in the international cinema who also happen to have beautiful bones structures that are visible in pictures and films. They will also add to the universality of square jawed beauty because these Caucasian women also have some distinguishable ethnic features as well such as their large wide set eyebrows. Two that I will name whom you can easily find good pictures of are the 2 sisters: Shaghayegh and Golshifte Farahani: 1) http://www.iranactor.com/kamarehe/images/shaghayegh/sh-1.jpg
2) http://www.iranactor.com/kamarehe/images/shaghayegh/sh-new-13.jpg
3) http://www.niksalehi.com/learn/khabar/golshifte.JPG
4) http://persianv.com/photo/displayimage.php?pid=13251&fullsize=1
and of course there is Leila Hatami as well:

Thanks Again and with Much Love,
Persian Square Jawed Beauty

I'm sorry I just found 2

I'm sorry I just found 2 other examples to add: Sophia Loren and the late Queen of Iran, Queen Farah:

What is also interesting to note about Queen Farah is that she is from the Azerbayjan region of Iran and Azaris have East Asian ancestry as a result of the Mongolian invasions led by Genghis Khan's. Queen Farah's authentically Persian and East Asian ancestry are both easily discernable in many of her pictures.
Sorry, to keep coming back like this but it's just that there are so many square jawed women in the entertainment industry and in the high ranks and there is always one that we forget to include. Im sure if I had more time on my hands, I could easily find 20 others, but for now I will not bombard you with that many. Thanks again.

Hi Persian square jawed

Hi Persian square jawed beauty,
thanks for your contributions, they are really appreciated.

Your topic is really interesting in the sense that it shows square jawed women from Iran. I like the fact that this site shows square jawed beauties from all over the world.

I will add a new thread in the gallery about about these beautiful women (although not immediately).

You are right that there are many square jawed beauties in entertainment industry, and this is not just a coincidence as a well structured face is a superior standard of beauty, in particular when it comes to "photogenic" voracious medias.

I don't think Jessica Alba qualifies though. I've seen her numerous time, and the structure of her face never catch my attention (she is still a beautiful woman of course) .

Don't forget Sophia Loren

Don't forget Sophia Loren too who was once recognized as the most beautiful woman in the world. Her gonial angle is not exactly a 90 degrees and perpendicular below her ear, but her jawline is definitely prominent and almost pararllel to the floor, which is not exactly apparent from a full frontal view of her face because her jaw muscles are compressed and do not exceed the width of her cheekbones from front view. However, her jawline is definitely prominent and does come across as large from every other angle and especially when she tilts her head up even by the smallest degree. I have compiled many links that show the prominence of her jawline, which are still only a few.

Sandra Bullock is also another square jawed woman whose pictures you may want to present on this site, although I personally do not find her particularly beautiful.

Thanks for your

Thanks for your contribution, I appreciate your enthusiasm. Just a note: did you get my email message about your personal gallery on the site and other comments I make after seeing your pictures ? I got your messages about "Leila Hatami" (which I will answer) but no response to my message so I thought it might not have been delivered properly.

Back to Sophia Loren:

Indeed I think she is a very beautiful woman, BUT..... she won't qualify for this site as she doesn't have the square jaw. It is particularly obvious in these pictures:

http://www.harikayaa.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/mart-sophia-loren.jp...
http://www.clas.ufl.edu/users/snunn/italiano31/sophia_loren_1.jpg

There is almost no jaw angle at all. In fact, I've always considered her as a small jawed woman, and "technically" speaking, she lacks jaw volume and has rather big teeth structure that would need a larger jaw support.

She is still a beautiful woman, but not of the highest standard.

Ron

Thanks Ron. I did get your

Thanks Ron. I did get your previous email. I will respond to it later on when I get a chance. It was just my perception though that Sophia Loren also has that sort of a jaw considering her overall bone structure, but I see what you mean. All in all, I am becoming more educated as to what constitutes having a large square jaw. I guess that angularity is very important for squareness.

Ill get back in touch with you shortly regarding the gallery site.

Hi Persian square jawed

Hi Persian square jawed beauty,
soon, you will become expert at recognizing high class square jawed beauties ^^.

Yes, the square of the angle is important, and is the requisite for the other characteristics of the high class beauty: flat, parallel mandibular plane, high cheekbones, chin advancement.... they often come together.

Some women give the illusion of strong cheekbones structure, when it is only fat and not bone structure. It's the case of Sophia Lauren: she has very small bone structure, but the high cheekbones are only fat. I prefer real high (fat) cheekbones supported by good bone structure.

Until now I was under the

Until now I was under the impression that Sophia Loren does have large cheekbones because her cheeks are unusually large and they have long been recognized as her most outstanding feature in addition to her beautiful hourglass figure.

Its hard to believe that the largeness of her cheeks is achieved by mostly excess fat rather than very well developed cheekbones at first site, but upon closer observation you may be right. You are right though about the lack of angularity of her gonial region and I can see that she has none. However, her jaw does protrude forward away from the rest of the face, creating the illusion that it is large when it really isn't. Due to the fact that she is a tall woman, approximately 174 cm tall, which was very tall for her generation of women, and she had a very well developed skeletal frame and an hourglass shape, she could easily appear very developed on every account. In a lot of films, she is taller and more skeletally developed than many men, but still overwhelminingly feminine by virtue of her hourglass shape.

I guess femininity can come in many forms contrary to some narrow-minded notions of femininity. Its fun to explore these as far as different aspects of a woman's appearance are concerned.

Most of the women featured on this site are beautiful square jawed woman and quite a few of them are very feminine too. Past a certain point though, squareness or bulkiness of the jawline can seem awkward. Some women, though, I think don't benefit from the appearance of a large jaw if they don't have all of the other needed features to compliment it. My threshold visually is where I start to see thickened jaw muscles that exceed the width of the cheekbones from a full frontal view of the face. I find Paris Hilton very beautiful too, but her jawline is sometimes not in keeping with much of the rest of her face, namely smaller cheekbones. Many complain about her jaw being a bad feature of hers, but is because of the way it appears in proportion to the rest of the face? In some photos, her jawline is flattering and in some others it doesn't suit her.

By the way, can Paris Hilton, another beautiful woman, be described as square jawed? Her jaw muscles are not pronounced and when relaxed she appears to have a fleshy small face, but the jaw does appear prominent in proportion to the face and there is definitely an angle formed below her ear maybe somewhere between 105 to 110 degrees. Her jaw is also almost parallel to foor level. She is also quite delicately built in many regards namely her neck and limbs. Does a jaw have to also have a very bulky bony appearance as well to be considered square too? Or could her jaw possibily fall into this category where she to pose in the same way some of the women featured on this site are posing?

Look at these especially:

http://www.parishiltonblog.org/
http://www.ballz.info/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/Paris%20Hilton%20and%20...

There are many pictures of her where her gonial angle is showing and in some of pictures her jaw gonial region appears more curved or rounded rather than angular. Here she is holding her head up and its very level and the angle seems very visible: http://thebosh.com/archives/upload/2006/11/paris-hilton-klum-party.jpg
Here where her head is tilting downwards towards the camera the jaw line seems more regressive which is misleading: http://www.hollywoodtuna.com/images/bigimages/paris_hilton_cheeky_4_big....

Photography is also very tricky. Because even a number of the square jawed women on this site are posing in such a way that literally emphasizes the squareness/largeness of their jawlines when they look up and lift their chins. Where they to pose in a different manner with the help of lighting/airbrushing/makeup/etc. the jawline could easily be made to appear more regressive and smaller if that was a look that the photographer wished to achieve. When looking at a given woman's photographs it is very important to analyze her look from as many angles as possible to see what her proportions possibly are.

Ron, I am so sorry to bombard you with so many concerns and questions all at one time, and I don't expect an immediate answer, it is just that I am so fascinated with your site and all that is related to it. Since I discovered it, I have been analyzing many women's jaw lines that appear prominent. It becomes a bit addicting when one finds an interesting topic and latches on to it.

I know what you mean. I

I know what you mean. I systematically analyze women's jaw and it is a perpetual pleasure to come across square jawed beauties.... although it doesn't happen that often. Sometime I compliment these women about their beauty. I don't explain them all the square jaw theory, but I just compliment them on the elegance of their face. They blush and say thanks. It's all I need to bring sun to the rest of the day. I'm NEVER bored of female beauty, and can contemplate it indefinitely. And I appreciate sharing this interest with an authentic square jawed beauty.

The jaw of Paris hilton is a bit particular. It seems her gonials are square only when you look her from the front, and much less when viewed from the sides where they seem more rounded. There is still an above average height between ear lob and jaw plane, so the jaw is somewhat parallel to the floor plane.

So to answer to your question, what makes a square jaw is the gonial angle, which involves parallel plane, and advanced chin. More often then not, there is the bulky appearance, a general square jaw "box" appearance. This is due as the jaw mechanics : square gonial = larger attachment for jaw muscles = corresponding larger muscles attachment on cheekbones, hence the often bulky look. When you look at the most beautiful women from this site, Shalom Harlow, Angelina Jolie and some others you will notice varying degrees of squareness, and often corresponding degree bulky appearance in the face. There is something less harmonious in the Face of Paris Hilton when you compare it to the face of Shalom Harlow and the like. This is a reason I never flashed on Paris Hilton, and didn't include it naturally in the site. I think it is the strange configuration of her "incomplete" square jaw + you don't know how much plastic surgery went in her face.

And yes, there are many expressions of feminity. I recognize beauty in other more "standard" type feminine beauty, but i'm much more attracted by square jawed female with feminine faces. I also think that objectively, the structure of these square jawed faces is superior in terms of beauty and is testimony of better orthodontic development, tissue support, in short : genetic pool, but this might start a controversy.

Regarding Sophia Loren.. I don't know.. Her face does have high cheekbones though. I really really don't think that's fat.

That is what I always

That is what I always thought. I still don't know for sure, but upper cheek flesh can also create the illusion of having cheekbones that are high and prominent

Super face, o like it

I have been observing the

I have been observing the jawline of Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe and it is notable in this clip on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PqeVYlq7EM&feature=related

Pause at 0:43 and 1:44 where her jawline shows up close and best. She usually has her hair down and I haven't really seen many pictures of her profile with her hair up where her gonial angle can be seen best, but her jawline is undeniably noteworthy and she is very beautiful.

Here is the site of the Haifa Wehbe fashion blog:

http://haifafashions.blogspot.com/

Actually, square, well developed jawlines don't all look the same. Some women have beautiful and hard looking faces and some are still softer more rounded. Haifa Wehbe has a petite frame altogether and thus her bone structure, though well formed, will be somewhat less pronounced typically than a lot of models. Here are some pictures in which Haifa Wehbe's gonial angle, slightly over 90 degrees, and entire jawline shows best because in most pictures. These are good pictures beacuse in most pictures she lowers her head rather than up which demphasizes her jawline:

Hi drmjr here is a video of

Hi drmjr

here is a video of Haifa Wehbe performing if you want to see how she looks in different scenarios.

Her jaw is not particularly large and her chin is small and delicate, but the gonial angle is about 105 to 110 degrees and the jaw line is very prominent and is very proportioned to her small face and her cheekbones. I think in her case it would look awkward if her jaw was larger and maybe less beautiful. The squareness and relative flatness of her jaw is apparent in this non airbrushed video when she lifts her chin. I just love looking at her. She has such darling feline or what they call catlike features.

I hope you enjoy it as well.
Pause at 0:18, 0:43/0:44, 1:07/1:08,1:17,1:23/1:24, 1:33, 2:05, 3:03, 3:52, 4:11 to get the best view of her gorgeous jaw, which she flaunts several times.

If you are interested in seeing other women from around the world with well developed square jaws. I can show you quite a few from the middle East.

Below is a 3:32 clip of an Iranian actress whose name I don't know from an Iranian musical. Interestingly, at the same time when musicals were produced in the United States other countries followed the same trend but only within their own cultural context. I don't find this woman very beautiful, but she flaunts her jaw, her best feature, quite a bit while singing and dancing also.

Here is a clip of an Uzbek lady woman from Uzbekistan performing in Turkey. I didn't get her name either, but she is tremendously beautiful and has a beautiful jawline. She appears to have some Mongolian/Chinese ancestry az many Azari Turks from Iran and Uzbeks do.

Hello,

Hello, persian_square_jaw_beauty1981. I wanted you to know that I miss seeing your photo here. Is there any specific reason it was removed?

Hi drmjr66, I just don't

Hi drmjr66, I just don't feel safe about keeping my picture on a public forum for too long right now. I may put it back on along with some others some time in the future. By the way, thank you.

You're very welcome. OK,

You're very welcome. OK, that is understandable. I'm glad to know that you're glad there is a site like this which is dedicated to admiring square jawed women like yourself. Before I ever saw this site, I thought I was the only person who was attracted to square jaws, but this site assured me I'm not so weird after all.

thank you I do appreciate your kind gesture, but God has given me a square face rather than an oval and I will try to appreciate it as it is though I know that jawbone reduction is always an option, but thank you again for the compliment on my eyes. I do appreciate it.

I find the pictures 1-2 also

I find the pictures 1-2 also nice too, your eyes are lovely but I find your nail color and your lips are abit too red, I think pink purple pearl color may nice to you more and also make you look sweet in the same time, red pink lotus also nice on you, the picture 3, I find you look lovely like little witch, you look quite young on this picture and attractive. and the least you with the wool hat are also cute, I find long chin square jaw women are nice with this kind of hat, their face tend to look younger.

About your cloth, I like them all, your style remind me to think of somethingroyality, especially the one you worn yellow gold blouce, your jeans and bracelet are promotes the style of the high class women in arab world as well. ( the style that I'd like to recommand you the most) your face looks most beautifull in the picture 12, about the pictures 20 and 21 I like your vintage style of cloth.

If I'd like to suggest you about the hair style, I think if you wanted to look more softer and elegrant I'd suggest you to try long swoll hair, mahogany brown or deep purple brown.

Try out the poppin pin in arabque style, my elder sister like it very much too, classy!
