I just viewed a few clips of Keira Knightley on youtube and I found an interesting connection as to why I like her face so much. With the exception of her square jaw and hard cheekbones, Keira Knightley's eyebrows, eyes, nose, and lips resemble Winona Ryder's somewhat when she was in her early twenties and of course after she had a nose job. Looking at Keira Knightley speak and facial expressions reminded me of Winona Ryder in Bram Stoker's Dracula.

I was always in love with Winona's large dark eyes, definitive eyebrows, small nose, and beautiful lips and it gave her face such character and enabled her to play a variety of roles. Her petite stature did not prevent from acting out the role of strong women from time to time simply on account of the fact that her facial features were always so expressive. However, it was kind of cheesy when she deliberately set herself up to get caught for stealing to get attention---I began to lose respect for her then.
Keira Knightley's square jaw, of course in addition to her taller stature 5'7' versus Winona Ryder's ultra petite small body at 5'4', gives her face that extra something that makes her suited for even a larger variety or roles from a noble, upperclass lady to a termagant to a warriorlike woman who is on the same rank as the men she is featured with. Her face is a combination of symmetry, beauty, femininity, and also strength. There is nothing missing in her face. Such a blessed woman she is. I'm just not a fan of her ultra thin body and she could benefit from the presence of a few curves to balance out the tall lean body.

Is it not obvious that the previous writer is a man? The comments alone drip of male chauvenism deluxe platter! Wipe yourself, please. . .
Tall stature, small stature, feminine, masculine. . .the parallels between these two women are amazing. They both have a square face, almond eyes, sculpted eyebrows, and a classic beauty. They are both blessed and could play each other's doubles. Just saw Keira in a movie with Ralph Fiennes "The Duchess" after having seen the movie "Little Women" with Winona Ryder the night before. I swore the synopsis was a misprint on "The Duchess" - that's how alike they look.
Why people degrade an actor's personal mistakes is beyond me. As if you are perfect. It's just you don't have a spotlight on you. Maybe you really wish you had one. Who cares if you respect them or not for their mistakes? Who are you to throw stones? The fact remains both of these women are beautiful and talented and both of them played each of their respective characters in the movies I saw back-to-back with class and plausability. Enough said.
I think it is just proper
I think it is just proper that we confine our discusssion on large jaw women. Side issues, such as personal shortcomings is not appropriate and off tangent to the main objective of the site.

I would disagree with the first answerer. I watched all of winona movies. she hasn't got square jaw. I think her head is also quite very small.
from her heritage. its quite rare to see square jaw and high cheekbones among mediteranean and arab people. its more frequent among people of
northern europe, central asian and eastern europe or anywhere of the mix heritages between caucasoid and mongoloid.

I also have heard some chinese people say that original chinese don't have square jaw and high cheekbones.
they tend to have weak jaw until china was occupied by mongol. the same way south east asian countries like lao, vietnam, thailand, burma etc. the ones with high cheekbones and squarer jaw come from north eastern areas. most of them have Hmong blood (hmong are the hill tribe people living on the northern mountains in south east asia countries. they are more related to mongolian, finn, siberian and native people of ussr than to the original native south east asian.
original chinese.
