The 2nd and the 3rd
The 2nd and the 3rd actresses are Iranian. The 2nd is Leila Hatami whose picture is in the Iran section and the 3rd with the green contact lenses is Elnaz Shakerdoost.
I had been looking for pictures of Elnaz Shakerdoost because I had been wondering if she has a square jaw or not, but it is very hard to tell with Iranian actresses because half of their jaws are often covered by their headscarves.
I am right now in doubt as to whether or not Leila Hatami has a square jaw, but she definitely has a definitive jawline and facial bone structure. Elnaz Shakerdoost's jawline is apparently very definitive as well.
Another thing I want to mention about Iranian women: Most have nose jobs. Elnaz Shakerdoost's creamy white skin, green contact lenses, and small petite nose is by virtue of lighting, cosmetics, and plastic surgery. All in all, I will say she is beautiful and is a terrific actress.
Is the first woman Suman
Is the first woman Suman Ranganathan Indian? She is very exotic and beautiful.
Another thing I want to add about the ideal view of how Iranian women ought to look and this is an idea that prevailed in medeival Europe as well. You had brought up the issue of how lighter skin is preferred among women in more traditional societies with the exception of European socieities and the United States that are aspiring towards more radical versions of beauty.
I do actually agree with you because lighter skin, especially in women, is associated with something very interesting.
I hope that Ron doesn't get upset with me for bringing up this issue given that this site is not about skin color, but since Geat mentions it a lot, I kind of like to address it.
In Medeival Europe, the ideal beauty was a soft, fleshy woman with very white pale skin and light blond hair in almost any case. The reason for it is because she resembled a woman who was indoors and who was untouched: a WOMAN WHO WAS PURE ON EVERY ACCOUNT, which was evident in her appearance whereas a darker featured woman was often associated with a more primitive lifestyle and darker skin was associated with being a member of the working class. Women of the working class spent more time outdoors and came in contact with different men and were more likely to have their virtues compromised.
As we can see, in European societies and in the USA, today, ideal beauty is considered to be what is "exotic," or different from what tradition had us think. In developing countries and in traditional societies, many still uphold the same traditional values.
In Iran, there is saying even today about what the ideal girl is that a man ought to be seeking for marriage. Translated literally, it goes as "A girl who has not seen sunlight or moonlight," meaning a girl who is at home all of the time. There is an old saying, translated literally "A woman must be beautiful, white and a bit fat." In traditional societies, many still judge woman's character on account of how they look and certain features or looks (mannerisms, styles, and dress included) are associated with certain behaviors, socioeconomic background, attitudes, and familial upbringing. People are often discriminated against or set apart from one another alongside these differences.
If you notice the pictures you have put up of Leila Hatami and Leila Shakerdoost, you will notice that they are both dressed in white and covered all over. They both appear lighter skinned than they would be without lighting and makeup. Elnaz Shakerdoost looks in the picture and smiles, but she smiles as a doll would smile at you, there is nothing sexually suggestive in how she smiles at you. She maintains her modesty. Her eyes are naturally hazel, I believe, but the lighting has made her eyes appear like the glassy green eyes of a doll. Leila Hatami is dressed in a similar manner and is looking down with her hands folded together.
Observe how different these pictures look from those of the other models and actresses who are tanned in bikinis and are posing seductively. The main emphasis of the other actresses and the models is their flesh, their body parts, how much they are revealing of themselves. In my personal opinion, their faces are less beautiful and feminine. The promote sexual freedom and lack of modesty or value of the female body. To be quite honest, I like the way the Iranian actresses look more on account of their modesty and ability to look attractive without being revealing. Their unattainable.
Lets take a look at cultural differences.
In the US, where I live today, through the efforts of several civil rights movements and activitist over the decades and the latter half of the 20th century, we are constantly encouraged not to judge by appearances alone even though we do because part of being human involves making faulty generalizations from time to time. The simple fact, however, that we are encouraged not to "judge a book by its cover" has opened the doors for many people to show their talents and have their unique type of beauty recognized and appreciated. This all accounts for the popularity of black rap artists and many other celebrities who do not fit the traditional standard of beauty.
Furhtermore, being "expressive" in whatever way we wish is encouraged be it through nudity, ludeness, obscenity, or provocativeness. See how popular and recognized Paris Hilton is for the videos she intentionally spreads. A video of one Iranian actress was exposed of her having sexual relations, against her knowledge and will, and her career ended right then and there.
I wanted to make this point before the issue of skin color and the popularity of lighter skinned people within their own countries is overemphasized again.
Hi persian_square. I want to
Hi persian_square. I want to state, because is not so clear, that because in north america women use their bodies as sexual symbols, and because part of that sexiness is having a tanned skin, that does not means that tanned equals obscenity. The tanned or black skin does not make a women less beautiful or femenine. Maybe is how they project themself. I do not want to sound rude, but because their is a comparison between the light and the dark skin women, I feel I have to defend the continually degradation of dark skin. The projection United States presents of many tanned women is just for commercial aims. And because they have exploited that it does not make the real tanned and black women less beautiful. In any case that makes of United States a ugly country who explode as sexual object women different ethnicities just for the capitalims benefit, but in another side marginalized lots of people because of their ethnic origins.
Oh I agree 100%. I don't
Oh I agree 100%. I don't think that tanned or darker skinned women are more obscene or less modest than lighter skinned women by virtue of their skin color. I was explaining the socio-cultural implications of women with darker skin within the same society. In part, I did agree with Geat, than in traditional societies, not the United States, women with lighter features are preferred over those with darker features for the reasons that I stated, not necessarily because whiter skin is more beautiful naturally or an indication of better character.
As far as what the United States does is concerned, I agree with you 100%. I do in fact acknowledge that having a tan, in the United States, is associated with sexiness and sexiness, in part, is associated with lewdness and obscenity, which I believe is wrong. HOWEVER, I will admit to one thing and I don't know if you agree with me or not. Many women who are members of racial and ethnic minorities and many darker skinnd women from different societies, NOT ALL i WILL EMPHASIZE are, in part, responsible for this because they are active participants in this trend. The fact that they are not able to become famous in their own societies prompts them to degrade themselves and the idea that darker skinned women can also be well mannered and virtuous.
Take a look at this clip. Someone gave this Iranian born women the title of Miss Iran when, in fact, Iranians have not participated in beauty pageants for almost 30 years after the Islamic Revolution. Look at what she is doing, the way she speaks, and is dressed, and see the responses that many Iranians have left her. She has darker skin that most Iranians and has a look that is definitely different from those women whose pictures are posted above. Many have commented on how disgusting and ugly she is and have cursed at her. They have referred to her as a whore, a shemale, and many other things. There is a deep-seated hatred towards such women from their countrypeople who seek fame and recognition elsewere when they are unable to get it among their own. I took this also as an attempt on Hollywood's part to make Iranians look bad. No one thinks she is attractive or deserving of the title "Miss Iran." Sadly, she is one of the few Iranian women who also has a square jaw and I hope she never gets the title of a BSJW on this site because she would defy the idea that there are beautiful square jawed women out there. She is a prime example of what I explained above.

The use of half naked women on the beach with tans or women of different ethnic origins is definitely a selling strategy that works against all women everywhere in the world.
The only thing I mentioned that I like about the way the women in Iran are posing is that there is a combination of beauty, subtlenss, and femininity. Their photos are not sexually suggestive and they encourage women to retain their modesty and appear beautiful at the same time. A woman can have either darker or lighter skin and exhibit these virtues in all that pertains to the arts be it modeling, acting, etc etc.
I think so about this point,
I think so about this point, and I quite accepted I'm one of the person that try to againt this in my country, I want no race but even that we can not denie in all non-white socioety still have culture and tradition like n old time. beautifull women must be white, that's not only in old europe but also in persia? arab countries? and so i asia from japan beautifull means white as snow, chinese and then in south east asia, also in India they still have class of skin. many of tanned skin or dark skin women from non-white socity couldn't be accept as beautifull in their own countries. such as zuu qi and pei ling? I'd rather say when those girls staying in china, they won't be able to famous. if you have ever visited china or any far east asian countries, you will find on television is something so different from the asian actresses that famous in USA. you will say I have never seen far east asian girls that look mixture between nordic little girls and oriental.
the procedure of tanned and dark skin fevor is being famous in usa? and all of tanned and dark skin girls that do not get acception to be beauty in their own countries are all go there, in usa ( everyone think there give a chance to anything) by don't know that usa just using them as the symbol of sexual and exotic fashion.
Yes, I believe tanned skin and dark skin women can be elicate and classy too? but just fashion comes from usa, and all people that think dark skin and tanned are the exotic and primitive things that different from the "beauty idiom of old worlds?" and I stated before as I educate the beauty idiom of any ancient tradition of different countries? I find it quite the same in every countries.
example :
in old japan : beauty is mean the girl that white as snow, dark hair, petite and small lips.
in old thai : beauty is mean the girl with skin bright as much as gold, and color like powder, eyes are big like deers.
in India : beauty is mean the girl with white skin, curl hair, longs fingers and long feeths, blue eyes
or green ( that I observe some Indian actresses are not pretty at all in my vision, but she having blue or green eyes and that made she be able to be the main actress awhile the unimportant character may look prettier than her.)
and I think the tanned skin and dark skin women are the main important person, whom can stop this trand by themselve? by do not follow the sexual industries of usa? ( but I still find it difficult, due to dark skin and tanned skin women the most are from the culture and tradition that don't give the hornour to them, so it difficult for them to be able to take the ideal of beautifull and modest women that againt from their character to use by themselve.
USA still lack of knowledge about tradition and culture of old worlds. last night I did watch the movie " anna and the king" that made by american producer, about the king of thailand in old time ( this flim get boycort in thailand, not to sale or into cinema because insult royality family) in this stupid flim they took
"Chow wein fa" to play as the king of siam (thai) and Pei ling played as lady tabtim, they speak thai in this flim whic (I'm thai) but I don't understand what they speaking. and I find Chow wein fa and pei ling look like chinese ( not look thai for me). and I just know the other movie about malasian pirate, chow wein fa also played there as the malay pirate, awhile in mamoire of Geisha ( japanese story) chow wein fa again, played as japanese bussiness man? I watched those flims and wanted to say "what's a hell is this" one chinese guy played as all whole asian continent? thai, japanese and chinese, malaysian are just like european people think of scandinevian? spanish? english? and I do not think in any american flim will used spanish guy to play as Viking? just like american producer used chinese to play as thai. this stupid!
I so agree. The American
I so agree. The American media really does a poor job of depicting people from different cultures from the way the look, behave, and even their languages. The mix close nationalities up a lot and make them look one in the same for Americans who don't know any better.
Persian, the ignorance I
Persian, the ignorance I have seen many Americans have toward other nationalities and cultures has sometimes made me ashamed to be American myself. I have lived overseas and am so glad I did. I hate it when US military guys go overseas during peacetime and say, "I can't wait to get back to the world".
I have also heard that some think German, Dutch and Danish are all the same language, but they are not, just all 3 are Germanic.
By the way, my favorite pictures on this page are 4, 6 and 7. I just love the head and jaw positions shown in those pictures.
German, dutch and denish
German, dutch and denish look not much different, but thai, chinese and japanese are different, especially thai is very different than japanese and chinese, the eyelid are more cleaer and especially in the thai people from southern of thaialnd where are muslim, MANY are look just like half race european-thai. to take chinese played on movie as thai, it's not different from take viking to play as arabs.
I want to say that the
I want to say that the attractiveness of dark skin in North American is in the same manner as how it was in centuries ago and as is still seen in many underdeveloped countries. White was a sign of social status, and dark skin was related with the working class as persian_square have said. In European, countries and in Noth America, most of the people who get tanned are the ones who symbolize high social standars because they are the ones who have the capacity to travel to tropical countries. And high class have more time to spend in vacations, more time to spend out doors than those of the working class who are more time in indoors working. The industrializaion makes the vast mayority of people to work indoors. Things have shiffted.
I know this has nothing to
I know this has nothing to do with jaws, but I have always been wondering why it seems to be more common to see black men with white women and not as much white men with black women. As a white man, the idea of dating and marrying women of darker skin coloring is interesting. As much as I find it attractive to see white women raise their heads and show off their underjaws, somehow I find it even more attractive if it is a woman whose color of skin differs from my own (e.g. black, Hispanic or Asian).
When I say Hispanic, I know some Hispanics look like me (by the way, I have blond hair and blue eyes, so I have been told I look like I'm of German or Scandinvian descent), but I am mostly thinking of mestizos (mixed Spanish and Native American, which is most common in Mexico and Texas, but I don't know where else). Also, by Asians, most Americans think of Orientals, but that can include the Middle East, India, etc. Here I go getting technical again.
