There is absolutely no doubt that Disney deliberately decided to attribute a square jaw to the heroine of their motion picture "Pocahontas".
They studied square jawed women from every angles and came to this beautiful virtual beauty.
I have seen in real life some women with this rare type of jaw. It's a very specific type of square jaw, only found on some asian women, and is my absolute favorite: face is jaw centric: it seems all the head is built around this pressure machine. Jaw is extremely square, muscular and strong, yet face is delicate and feminine. Jaw line is ruler straight, teeth are naturally perfectly aligned, broad and thick. Cheekbones seem very high and projecting, face is flat, forehead small, which gives a distinct aspect to the projecting jaw box. The straight hairs with small volume emphasis the face size and structure.
I think this site deserves a jaw classification chapter :) .
Pocahontas really existed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocahontas but we don't know if she was square jawed ;)

Since early 2008, I discovered that the square jaw is a typical trait of Native American ladies, who have distant relation to east Asian ladies. The first time I realized this is when I complimented a lady about her jaw shape, she laughed and said "It's the Indian [Native American] in me." I've given several other ladies that compliment since and they told me the same thing. I currently live in an area where there are many Cherokee ladies, or ladies who are partially Cherokee.

Since I was around 12 I have been so self conscious about my strong chin. People made fun of me about it, even my best friend told me that I had "a bit of a chin". Well, she had no chin!
After I found this site and saw so many beautiful women with chins just like mine, I have become confident about my prominent jaw and think of it as elegant and stately instead of ugly and mannish.
I am 1/4 Indian, which accounts for my small eyes, high cheekbones, and pronounced chin. Anyway, thanks so much for making this wonderful site that has brought me renewed confidence about my chin.

This is inaccurate. The
This is inaccurate. The Disney Pocahontas was modeled after NDN actress Irene Bedard who was also the voice. The model Brenda Schad is NOT NDN.. maybe only a fraction.
This is a nice list, but these are all women who are allegedly part Native American. Your list of NDN women is not a correct representation.
There are ton of real NDN women with possible square jaws....Misty Upham, Irene Bedard, Tamara Podemski, Kateri Walker, Carla-Rae , Karina Lombard, Rachelle White Wind, Elizabeth Frances, Sera Lys McArthur, Jessica Matten, Alex Rice, Crystle Lightning, Kimberly Guerrero, Cheyenne King.
If you had tried hard enough, you could have found some Native American women who are all native, not just partial, and also beautiful. Just because Julia Jone's was in a movie playing a NDN role doesn't mean she is one.

I don't see what's the problem here.
Being 100% native or not doesn't change the observation.
Someone with a fraction of Chinese or black ancestry can clearly exhibit traits of those types, and Schad's Mongoloid traits are certainly from her native ancestry.
